To rent a vehicle, the main driver must hold a valid driver's license issued at least one year prior. There is no set age limit; however, driving history and experience may influence the excess (deductible) amount applied in the event of damage. Finalizing the rental contract requires the presentation of the following documents: National ID card or valid passport Driver's license appropriate for the rented vehicle category 2. Booking and payment terms
Rental requests can be made via the website, by phone, via WhatsApp message, or directly with our team at the Oujda branch. A booking is only considered confirmed once validated by CARIVA Location Oujda and, where applicable, a deposit has been paid or payment details have been registered. Rates are quoted in Moroccan Dirhams (MAD) and Euros (EUR), inclusive of all taxes. They include comprehensive insurance and mileage—either unlimited or capped, depending on the chosen package. Prices may vary based on the season, rental duration, and vehicle category. Accepted payment methods include: Cash payment Bank cards Bank transfer Mobile payment (where available) 3. Security deposit
- General case: No security deposit is required. - Special case: for certain driver profiles (age, length of time holding a license, driving history), CARIVA Car Rental Oujda may require a security deposit upon vehicle handover to cover potential costs such as: - The insurance deductible in the event of a claim not fully covered by insurance - Potential fines - Potential charges for extensive cleaning if the vehicle is returned in a very dirty condition. The customer should bear in mind that, even without a deposit, they remain contractually bound to CARIVA Car Rental Oujda and liable for any costs for which they are responsible. 4. Insurance and deductible
The entire CARIVA Car Rental Oujda fleet is covered by comprehensive insurance, including at a minimum civil liability coverage for damage caused to third parties. In the event of an at-fault accident or if no third party is identified, a fixed deductible of 12,000 MAD is payable by the renter. Any accident, theft, or damage must be reported as soon as possible and be the subject of an agreed statement of facts (*constat amiable*) or an official report from the competent authorities, submitted to CARIVA Car Rental Oujda within 24 hours. 5. Vehicle handover and return
A joint vehicle inspection report is drawn up when the vehicle is handed over to the customer and again upon its return. Any damage or anomaly not reported at the start but noted upon return may be billed to the renter, up to the limit of the deductible specified in the contract. The vehicle is handed over with a specific fuel level; it must be returned with an equivalent level. If the level is lower, CARIVA Car Rental Oujda may charge for the missing fuel as well as a service fee. 6. Use of the vehicle
The renter agrees to use the vehicle with care and for its intended purpose, and specifically to: Not take the vehicle outside the territory of the Kingdom of Morocco without prior written consent from CARIVA Car Rental Oujda Refrain from transporting illicit, dangerous, or prohibited goods Not sublease the vehicle or lend it to drivers not listed in the contract Comply with the Moroccan Highway Code and all applicable traffic regulations
7. Reservation cancellation
The customer may cancel their reservation free of charge under the conditions specified at the time of booking (by default, cancellation is free unless otherwise stated in the offer or booking voucher). If CARIVA Car Rental Oujda is compelled to cancel a reservation for a legitimate reason (force majeure, vehicle unavailability, breakdown, or technical incident), the customer will be offered either a vehicle of an equivalent category—subject to availability—or a full refund of amounts already paid. 8. Renter’s Liability
Throughout the rental period, the renter remains liable for: Traffic violations and any associated fines Loss of or damage to keys, vehicle documents, or supplied accessories (GPS, child seats, etc.) Damage caused by negligence, improper use of the vehicle, or driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or illicit substances In the event of a serious breach of the obligations set out in the contract or these terms and conditions, CARIVA Car Rental Oujda reserves the right to terminate the rental early and repossess the vehicle, without compensation to the renter. 9. Dispute Resolution – Competent Court
In the event of a serious breach of contractual obligations—specifically abandoning the vehicle at the airport or elsewhere, refusing to pay costs resulting from an at-fault accident, misusing the vehicle, or returning it in an unacceptably dirty condition—the renter may face legal action. In accordance with applicable legislation, such proceedings may result in restrictive measures, such as a ban on leaving Moroccan territory (notified to customs authorities) until the situation is resolved. Any dispute regarding the interpretation, performance, or validity of these General Terms and Conditions of Sale shall, subject to any mandatory legal provisions to the contrary, be governed by Moroccan law and fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Oujda. 10. Acceptance of General Terms and Conditions
Any confirmed reservation and any taking possession of a vehicle from CARIVA constitute the client's full, complete, and unreserved acceptance of these General Terms and Conditions of Sale. The client acknowledges having read these provisions prior to finalizing their reservation.
